About Us
Kayan for Women Empowerment Organization (KWEO) is a Sudanese women-led, non-profit organization established in Darfur in 2021 and officially registered in Uganda in 2024.
Working across all five states of Darfur, Kayan advances women's rights, protects women and girls affected by conflict, and promotes gender equality, women's leadership, and meaningful participation in peacebuilding.
Through grassroots initiatives, psychosocial support, human rights advocacy, and community engagement, Kayan empowers women and girls to become leaders and agents of positive change.
Our Activities
Kayan works across Darfur to protect and empower women and girls through psychosocial support, safe spaces, human rights advocacy, political empowerment, leadership development, and humanitarian assistance.
Our initiatives promote gender equality, prevent gender-based violence, strengthen women's political participation and representation in decision-making processes, and advance their meaningful involvement in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and community leadership.
Through grassroots engagement and advocacy, we amplify women's voices and support their role in shaping a more peaceful, just, and inclusive Sudan
